MANSORY for the Porsche Panamera 971 — the carbon programme on Porsche's MSB-platform grand-tourer sedan

The Porsche Panamera 971 generation — launched in 2017 and facelifted in 2020 — is the second-generation Panamera and Porsche's commitment to the full-size luxury sedan tier. It is the biggest Porsche currently in production at 5.05 m in standard wheelbase and 5.20 m in the Executive long-wheelbase trim, and it is the Porsche that shares the most with a non-Porsche production car: the 971 sits on the VW Group MSB platform — Modulare Standardantriebs Baukasten, the longitudinal-engine premium platform — which it shares directly with the Bentley Continental GT (3rd gen) and at a structural level with the Lamborghini Urus. The Mansory Panamera 971 kit is specified against that MSB-shared context and against the Panamera's positioning as a true continent-crossing grand tourer rather than a chauffeured limousine.

Why the Panamera runs a different buyer profile from the Continental despite shared platform

The Continental GT and the Panamera sit on the same MSB chassis, share suspension geometry and share several electrical-architecture components — but the buyer profiles diverge sharply. The Continental GT is an owner-driven GT coupé / convertible. The Panamera 971 is an owner-driven four-door sedan built for long-distance autobahn use at sustained 220–250 km/h cruising speeds, with a practical rear seat for two adults (five on the Executive LWB bench). Mansory Panamera commissions weight heavily toward aerodynamic and thermal stability at continental driving distance — the front-bumper dimensioning, the lowering module's ride-height offset and the 22" wheel sizing are all specified toward the Panamera's long-distance-touring use case rather than city-streetscape presence. This is also reflected in the Panamera commission book's geographic concentration — the programme concentrates in markets with long autobahn / motorway / interstate networks.

Donor range covered — the complete 971 book

  • Panamera V6 (2.9 twin-turbo, 330 hp / 440 hp on 4S trim) — the volume 971 donor
  • Panamera GTS (4.0 V8, 460 hp / 620 Nm) — the driver-focused mid-range V8
  • Panamera Turbo (4.0 V8, 550 hp / 770 Nm) — the V8-flagship 971 before Turbo S
  • Panamera Turbo S (4.0 V8, 630 hp / 820 Nm) — the ICE flagship
  • Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid (4.0 V8 + electric, 690 hp combined, 870 Nm) — the PHEV flagship
  • Panamera Executive (long-wheelbase, +150 mm wheelbase) — available across all powertrain trims, particularly specified in China and the Gulf

The Mansory kit is dimensioned to both the pre-facelift (2017–2020) and post-facelift (2020+) bumper geometries — the 2020 facelift revised the front bumper aperture geometry and the rear-diffuser lower profile, and the workshop ships the appropriate bumper SKU based on the production-year window declared at commission. All drivetrain variants take the same body panels because the body shell is common across powertrains. The PHEV Turbo S E-Hybrid's additional cooling-intake geometry at the front bumper is preserved by the Mansory front-bumper aperture design.

Body conversion — kit parts list

  • Front bumper — full-panel carbon-composite replacement with integrated lower lip and side air-curtain apertures
  • Front splitter — under-tray dry-carbon splitter extending the lip downforce
  • Dry-carbon engine bonnet (optional) with central-louvre vent extracting heat off the V8 intake loop
  • Carbon side skirts with downforce flow blade — dimensioned to the LWB Executive wheelbase as standard; SWB shares the same panel (the LWB additional 150 mm sits between front skirt and rear skirt and is body-colour trim-infilled at install)
  • Carbon mirror housings
  • Outer door handle inserts (optional)
  • Rear bumper with integrated carbon diffuser — accommodates both the V6 twin-exhaust outlet and the V8 quad-exhaust outlet without SKU split
  • Rear roof-line spoiler — dry-carbon lip continuing the Panamera fastback roofline
  • Boot-lid active-spoiler trim (optional) — a carbon overlay on the factory active rear spoiler; preserves the factory articulation envelope

Material: dry carbon on the bonnet, mirror housings and roof-line spoiler; PU-RIM composite with visible carbon on the front bumper shell, side skirts and rear bumper (full-dry-carbon upgrade available). Install three to four shop days. The factory active rear spoiler continues to extend and retract at factory-programmed speed thresholds (90 km/h deployment / 160 km/h high-speed attack angle) with the Mansory boot-lid overlay installed — the carbon overlay is structurally laminated to the factory spoiler panel and does not alter the actuator load envelope.

Powertrain — what the kit preserves, what Mansory offers separately

The Mansory 971 carbon programme is a body-only upgrade. Engine output is preserved on all six donor variants. A Mansory stage 1 tune is offered as a separate line item for the V8 donors (Turbo and Turbo S) — the tune pushes the Turbo S's factory 630 hp to approximately 720 hp and adjusts the ZF 8-speed PDK mapping to handle the additional torque without clutch-pack stress. Mansory does not offer a tune for the Turbo S E-Hybrid PHEV variant — the PHEV's combined powertrain runs on a Porsche-specific ECU with proprietary hybrid-control calibration that does not accept aftermarket remap. A Mansory sport exhaust is available for V6, V8 and V8-PHEV donors; the PHEV sport exhaust includes a specific aperture routing that preserves the rear-axle electric-motor packaging.

Factory air suspension (PASM adaptive damping) and Porsche's rear-wheel steering are preserved at factory function. The Mansory lowering module offsets the factory PASM target ride height and is commissioned on approximately 75% of Panamera Mansory orders — the long-distance-autobahn use case rewards the lower ride height at sustained high-speed cruising.

Wheels — 22" forged with a Panamera-specific tyre compound spec

Factory Panamera 971 ships on 20" wheels standard and 21" as a factory option on Turbo trims. Mansory's wheel offering for the Panamera is 22" on the Porsche 5×130 PCD, multi-spoke designs. The tyre fitment is 275/35-22 front / 315/30-22 rear — the wider rear tyre contacts the Panamera's 22" rear-wheel arch envelope without requiring fender flare. Standard fitment is Pirelli P Zero (PZ4) or Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S. The workshop sanctions a Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 alternative for owners who prioritise rain-grip for long-distance grand-touring. Full wheel range at Hodoor forged wheels.

Geography — the grand-tourer motorway-network map

The Panamera's commission geography is unusually concentrated in markets with long high-speed motorway networks — the car's design positioning as a sustained-high-speed sedan rewards commission by geography more than almost any other Mansory donor. Five market clusters dominate:

Germany (home-market autobahn cluster). Munich, Stuttgart (Porsche's home city), Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, and the Ruhr industrial corridor. Germany is the largest single Mansory Panamera market by commission volume. The autobahn's high-speed regime specifies the Panamera's use case precisely and German commissions weight toward the aggressive-spec tier with the Mansory lowering module, 22" forged, dry-carbon bonnet and the stage-1 tune on V8 donors. Approximately 35% of Mansory Panamera 971 commissions ship into Germany.

Continental motorway corridors — Switzerland, Austria, Italy, France. Switzerland (Zurich / Geneva / Basel), Austria (Vienna / Salzburg), Italy (Milan / Turin / Rome) and France (Paris / Côte d'Azur) run Panamera commissions on sustained long-distance use patterns — the Gotthard Alpine corridor, the Brenner Pass, the A1 Paris-to-Monaco route. Swiss commissions weight restrained; Italian commissions weight aggressive; the corridor-spec Panameras are overwhelmingly V8 Turbo or Turbo S donors rather than V6.

Middle East (Dubai / Abu Dhabi cluster). UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar. Gulf Panamera commissions weight heavily toward LWB Executive donors rather than the standard wheelbase — the chauffeur / owner-driver hybrid use pattern in the Gulf luxury market matches the Executive's rear-cabin packaging. Commission spec is full-aggressive: carbon bonnet, lowering module, 22" forged, sport exhaust, and stage-1 tune. Approximately 20% of Mansory 971 commissions ship into the Gulf.

US Northeast corridor. The I-95 corridor from Washington D.C. through New York and Boston, the NJ Turnpike, and the Pennsylvania-Ohio-Indiana Turnpike system — US Panamera commissions concentrate in markets with sustained-motorway-use patterns. Greenwich, Manhattan, Boston, Washington D.C. are the primary cities. South Florida (Miami / Palm Beach) runs a secondary Panamera market on V8 Turbo and PHEV donors. West Coast commissions are thinner than European equivalents — the Panamera's character rewards sustained high-speed use that California's regulatory speed limits do not permit.

China (the Executive-LWB chauffeur-hybrid cluster). China Panamera commissions ship almost exclusively on the Executive LWB trim with a chauffeur-hybrid use pattern. Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Hangzhou are the primary Chinese commission cities. The restrained-spec Panamera Executive LWB with dry-carbon bonnet and 22" forged (no lowering module, no aggressive front bumper) is the dominant Chinese specification. Russia / CIS orders route through the Tsar programme — the CIS Panamera order book leans aggressive-spec with V8 Turbo donors on the Moscow-St. Petersburg corridor.

Sister Mansory Porsche and MSB-platform builds

The Mansory Panamera sits alongside the Porsche line — Cayenne Coupé, 911 (992), Macan, Taycan (the BEV sister to the Panamera) — and alongside the MSB-platform sister programmes: Bentley Continental GT/GTC (direct MSB sister) and Lamborghini Urus (MSB-derived). Households running a Panamera Mansory plus a Continental GT Mansory on matched spec is one of the workshop's most common coordinated-commission patterns.

FAQ

Does the kit fit both pre-facelift (2017–2019) and post-facelift (2020+) Panamera 971?
Yes, but via two production-year-specific front-bumper SKUs. The 2020 facelift revised the front-bumper aperture and the workshop ships the bumper SKU appropriate to your model year. Bonnet, side skirts, mirror housings, rear bumper, diffuser and rear spoiler are common across both production-year windows.

Does the Executive long-wheelbase variant take the same kit as the short-wheelbase?
Yes. The Executive LWB adds 150 mm between the B-pillar and the rear wheel arch — no Mansory panel interacts with that zone. Side-skirt panels are specified to the LWB dimension as standard and the SWB install uses a body-colour trim infill at the skirt midpoint.

Can the Turbo S E-Hybrid PHEV be tuned within the Mansory programme?
No. The PHEV's combined powertrain runs on a Porsche-specific ECU with proprietary hybrid-control calibration. Mansory does not offer a PHEV tune. Body parts and the sport exhaust are PHEV-compatible, and the exhaust aperture routing preserves the rear-axle electric-motor packaging.

Does the Mansory kit interact with the factory active rear spoiler?
No beyond preserving its articulation. The optional boot-lid active-spoiler carbon trim is laminated to the factory spoiler panel and preserves the factory deployment envelope (90 km/h deployment, 160 km/h high-speed attack angle). Factory rear-axle load calibration at sustained high speed is unaffected.

Does the Panamera Mansory programme share parts with the Bentley Continental GT Mansory programme (same MSB platform)?
No at the body-panel level. The two cars share the MSB chassis but the body shells differ completely — the Bentley is a two-door GT / convertible and the Panamera is a four-door sedan / fastback. Design vocabulary is deliberately matched across both programmes so that households running both cars on matched specifications read consistently, but the panels are not interchangeable.

Is the lowering module compatible with Panamera 4 and 4 Executive all-wheel-drive trims?
Yes. The Mansory lowering module interfaces with the PASM air-suspension target-height controller across all 971 trims — rear-drive Panamera, all-wheel-drive Panamera 4, and all Executive LWB variants. Self-levelling is preserved at the offset target height.
